Veteran’s (WW1) Lapel Button w/Mini Awards

WW1 veteran’s button with dual EKs (representing Iron Cross 1st & 2nd classes), Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieges 1914/1918 (War Cross of Honor), & Verwundetenabzeichen (Wound Badge in Black). The rolled ribbons are the Austrian Medal of Valor and what appears to be a ribbon with the color pattern of the Bavarian Military Service Cross.

I have had this for several decades and have never taken the ribbons out, however, what appears to be the Bavarian Service ribbon (based upon the color scheme), the black and blue lines are equal in width, and I cannot locate anything similar other than this medal/ribbon.

Any ideas?

Nice button lapel assembly….over time the original ribbons were misplaced and someone just stuck a ribbon they found….but I noticed no imperial state medals are on group (i.e. Bavaria, Hessen, Saxon, Baden, etc.)…maybe the ribbons are to denote these???  If only it could talk…time travel.  Very nice piece

Thanks.

I have always been skeptical about the ribbons, whether they both belonged to the button, especially when seeing an Austro-Hungarian ribbon (orange striped) in conjunction with what appears to be a Bavarian ribbon (tucked behind it). But I cannot locate anything 100% identical to what I am describing as the Bavarian ribbon, as the exact color scheme is the Bavarian Service Cross ribbon, but the black stripes on all I’ve located are thinner than the blue, whereas the one I have is the same width as the blue.

That is a really interesting veteran lapel button.   One will see some odd award combination on these civilian button hole mountings.  In my experience, anything goes with these lapel mountings.  The dual IC awards are neat.
