I found this at an antique center in the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania.  I believe it dates from the mid 60's.

You're welcome! I appreciate the comments. I just couldn't let it become a Halloween costume or get broken up.

Great find. You might try to find out how it came into the store. I knew one American IDF Volunteer from the 7 Days War and he was from Texas.  Alot of these vets have passed on and their story us slowly being lost to time. Most of them are pretty humble and keep it under their hat so to speak.

Good idea. I will have to give them a call. It's 2+ hours away. I do know an IDF veteran who served for about 30 years. He also doesn't talk about it much but when he does he has some funny stories. Like the time he had to clear Yasser Arafat's brother at a check point. Imagine trying to enter Israel with that name?

It's a different world over there. We as American's take for granted our humdrum daily lives and freedom and liberty to do so. It's always a constant threat just under the surface over there.

I was able to find the 1972 date in the beret. Yom Kippur War (1976) is not out of the question.

I called the dealer who I bought the uniform from. He said it was purchased at an estate auction of a big militaria collector. He has no information as to the history and/or original owner of it. Too bad but I'm still thrilled to have acquired it.

Yom Kippur War was actually 1973, but either way, cool uniform ensemble. I can't imagine wearing anything wool in the Israeli summer or even springtime, especially on the Mediterranean coast where it's always muggy.

Pic is me (infantry) posing on top of an Israeli Merkava MKII or MKIII on Mt. Hermon in 1993.

1973. I knew that. Guess I had a brain fart there. Lol.

I figured from your user name you were IDF.

Great picture, too.

Nagmash is an APC, correct?
