June 13Jun 13 #2 This a known as a Kothimora Kukris under this category can actually be used however the main purpose is for display due to its extraordinary sheath. The sheath is made from pure silver and is totally handcrafted. Kothimoras (kukris with silver scabbard). It is a custom and tradition in Nepal to give away Kothimoras as gift on special occasion and events to thank and honor worthy action/deed. Kothimoras are also given to an retiring Gurkha Army officer as an honor. this is a great Khukri. I would say it dates to the 1930s
