July 14Jul 14 #1 somebody told me recently that the British poisoned Napoleon while on St. Helena - that they were slipping arsenic into his food. Is this true? Does anyone know what the historical record says on that or is this something made up or apocryphal.
July 15Jul 15 Author #2 Has anyone watched the movie Waterloo? I've always thought that Rod Steigar's portrayal was how i thought him to be - disappointed in the portrayals in the recent Napoleon movie, PBS War and Peace from the 1970's, and other movies/TV series. I thought Waterloo deserved recognition for its acting, screenplay, cinemtography, everything. The Russian director Bondarchuk (sp?) has 20,000 extras in uniform.
