Just as you leave the main exhibit halls of the National World War One Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, there is always a case titled "Latest Acquisition".

 

This is what was encased there when I visited in November 2018:

And of course, the helmet, which looks like it was made yesterday.

 

I don't mind admitting that given the lighting even with Photoshop it was difficult to get past the glare to show the details of the metal and gold braid.

Thank you for sharing this uniform with us, along with the connected history. The gilt and braid work is breathtaking.

Thanks for your hard work with photoshop Gil. This subdued museum lighting is always a problem when taking photographs. While the lighting is good for the artifacts it is not good for photographers.
