MECHINF-A15 Posted December 21, 2018 #1 Posted December 21, 2018 Shown here are Russian Press release photographs I acquired after "the wall came down." Each photo has a hand written caption on the back. Unfortunately, I can't read a word of it. I would be happy to post the back for those who can just let me know. Frist up, Soviet machine gun crew man a Maxim M1910/34.
MECHINF-A15 Posted December 21, 2018 Author #2 Posted December 21, 2018 This sniper appears to be "all business" as he poses with his Mosin-Nagant M91 rifle.
MECHINF-A15 Posted December 21, 2018 Author #3 Posted December 21, 2018 This soldier is armed with the "trade mark" Soviet weapon of World War II, the PPSh-1 "Burp gun."
MECHINF-A15 Posted December 21, 2018 Author #4 Posted December 21, 2018 This Mortar crewman zeros in his 120 mm piece.
MECHINF-A15 Posted December 21, 2018 Author #5 Posted December 21, 2018 Field gun crew prepares to fire.
MECHINF-A15 Posted December 21, 2018 Author #6 Posted December 21, 2018 Russian troops inspect a captured German Panzer motor pool. Panzer IIIs that were under repair can be seen in the background.
MECHINF-A15 Posted December 21, 2018 Author #7 Posted December 21, 2018 Nice shot of the Russian 152 mm Model 1910/34 field gun. A number of these weapons were captured and introduced into German service. The German designation was 15,2 cm K.433/1®. For an example the III./Panzerartillerie-Lehr-Rgt. 130, Panzer-Lehr-Division was armed with 12 of these guns in Normandy, 1944.
MECHINF-A15 Posted December 21, 2018 Author #8 Posted December 21, 2018 A very serious looking Russia Lieutenant of Artillery(?) poses for the camera. Possibly some of you Soviet collectors can weigh-in on his decorations?
MECHINF-A15 Posted December 21, 2018 Author #9 Posted December 21, 2018 Officers observing German positions through a captured German field periscope. This is all I have folks. I invite others to post theirs as well. All the best, Mike

S.ChrisKelly Posted May 15, 2023 #11 Posted May 15, 2023 Photographs from Budapest, Hungary 1945. Imagine seeing this Red Army officer on the street, looking in your direction. He doesn't need a weapon! (Quote Paddington Bear... "It's called a hard stare.")
