captainofthe7th Posted January 3, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 3, 2019 The finish on this looks modern and I assume some sort of paratroop connection. I thought French, SE Asian, or African. Any ideas? Thanks, Rob
triplecanopy Posted January 3, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 3, 2019 I am fairly sure that this is a Honduras Airborne unit badge.
triplecanopy Posted January 4, 2019 Share #3 Posted January 4, 2019 It is from Honduras, 2nd Parachute Battalion. Actually this was / is the only para unit that I know they have and part of Special Operations Unit (national CT unit) formed in mid 1980sAt the time, in the 1980-1990s, it was the only airborne infantry unit in the Army. The pocket crests are rarely seen and could only be purchased at the unit shop. The badge on the left is one I am trying to ID.
captainofthe7th Posted January 4, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted January 4, 2019 Thank you! I was so fixated on European or SE Asia I did not even consider the Americas. This piece doesn't fit into my collection, is there any trade or resale value? I assume it is a niche market. Thanks, Rob
no12sabe Posted June 2 Share #5 Posted June 2 These bottom three are the patches I have from the Honduran 2nd Abn Bn. The top two are from SF units, 1st SF Bn and 2nd SF Group. I’m not sure but I more inclined to say the pin is from Chile.
