Guest Windraider Posted February 13, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2019 Buckle the "Kassernierten Volkspolizei (KVP) (=Barracked People's Police). Early buckle from the GDR time. Brass sheet without symbol. The "Bereitschaften der Volkspolizei" (1948-1952) and the KVP (1952-1956) were the predecessors of the NVA. Stronger worn piece. The belt was made from a German WW2 belt. Inside you can see the acceptance stamp HVA. (HVA = Hauptverwaltung Ausbildung - Higher-level department since 1952)

SARGE Posted February 13, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 13, 2019 Very nice early belts and buckles. Does the WWII period belt retain any old markings or does it just the "HVA" stamp?
Guest Windraider Posted February 13, 2019 Share #4 Posted February 13, 2019 Only the HVA Stamp. The part with the maker mark is missing. This is belt made between 1941 - 1942/43. In the most cases you will only find a maker mark on such late WW2 belts.
