I've notice this past 6 months an increase in interest of collecting and displaying WW2 Mess items, especially US and German. Prices are starting to climb on these and many asking premium prices but much is still available. Canteens, cups, utensils, etc. There are so many variations to German canteens and cups and covers. One could make a great display of these alone. Also except for some rare variations, can be found at reasonable prices still in the 35 to 55.00 ranges. But be wary, they are also reproduced and the reproductions are close to what original ones sell for.

I collect field gear. Got a few German mess tins,folding fork/spoons and 4 piece mess sets. Rich A. in Pa.

It's always interesting to see what the soldiers used in the field to do basic things like eating. I'd be happy to see some of the things you have if you'd care to post them. I am only familiar with US equipment.
