bldrhouse Posted May 21, 2019 #1 Posted May 21, 2019 From the condition and the words, I think this is a post-war armband worn by those who were in this resistance group, but do not know. Not a problem if so, just want to know what I'm getting. Translation: FEDERATION OF PARTISANS OURTHE-AMBLEVE (region of Belgium -- the Bulge battleground) AFFILIATED WITH THE FRONT FOR INDEPENDANCE Thoughts? Thanks, zk
stratasfan Posted May 21, 2019 #2 Posted May 21, 2019 Ah, I remember this when they listed this on the USMF Foreign militaria sale. I did a lot of research for the seller, as I was interested in this. Got to post #9 at this link: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/315947-mix-bag-of-foreign-militaria/ This isn't French. This is Belgian. This is actually an armband for the Belgian Communist Resistance movement. The colours are the Belgian colours, and the words are the name of the Belgian Communist Resistance group, which bears strong resemblance to a French group, but a few words make it the Communist group. Hope this helps. If you are looking for a French one, than this is not the one to get. French colours would be blue-white-red.
