I've had this helmet for 25+ years and always thought it was British. Turns out to be Canadian! The liner is marked "7 3/4 VMC II 1942" and the shell is marked "C.L./C. 1943". From what I've found, the shell was made by the Canadian Motor Lamp Co. of Windsor and the liner by Viceroy Manufacturing Co of Toronto. That is a nice example of a Canadian Mk II Helmet. What does it have for a central screw?

It was a wide flat brass slotted screw that broke off probably 15 years ago so I replaced it with a smaller brass screw and washer. I kept the original though!

Nice helmet in great condition. Ones like this with a large size liner are getting harder to find.

Thanks, to be honest it probably hasn't seen the light of day since I posted it.
