Charlie Flick Posted February 1, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2020 Wing Commander Farnes DFM of 501 Squadron flew Hurricanes in the Battle of Britain after flying in the Battle of France. He was credited with six victories. See the link for a BBC interview of Farnes on his career. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-hampshire-51306750 Farnes retired from the RAF in 1958. There are believed to be only two other surviving BoB pilots. The Few are now fewer. Farnes lived a long and happy life and was, quite obviously, a remarkable man.
