Bob Hudson Posted April 8, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 8, 2020 This is from an NCO who served with the 7th Canadian Infantry Brigade in WWI. A group photo also shows him with the 2nd Draft 47th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force June 14th, 1915. His name and unit are engraved on the back of the 1914-15 Star medal. Bob Hudson Posted April 8, 2020 Author Share #2 Posted April 8, 2020 Just found this, showing him being promoted from Acting Sergeant Major to Acting Warrant Officer Class II in the Overseas Military Forces of Canada on May 21, 1920. Does this mean he was still in Europe in 1920 - that would have made what, 5 years overseas?
Bob Hudson Posted April 8, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted April 8, 2020 Found this online, showing him wounded in autumn 1916.

Vix Steel Posted April 8, 2020 Share #6 Posted April 8, 2020 Yup the ribbons are reversed, I see it all the time. Looks like he was shot in the back of the neck... Nice group!
Bob Hudson Posted April 8, 2020 Author Share #7 Posted April 8, 2020 Looks like he was shot in the back of the neck... How can you tell? I switched the ribbons - it was easy top do, they'd never been sewn.
Bob Hudson Posted April 9, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted April 9, 2020 Today I took photos of the engraving on the edge of the the WAR MEDAL and VICTORY MEDAL. It has his SN, rank (in this case ACTING WARRANT OFFICER 2), name and unit:
