SARGE Posted September 24, 2020 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2020 Gents, Here is an interesting set of Tagbuch (Day Books) kept by a single Gendarm over a period of time. These books are like little daily diaries of what the Gendarm did during the course of his day. It was submitted to his Sergeant for review and the supervisor made notations in red in the book which remained in the custody of the policeman. These are basically the policeman's notes to refresh his memory for court or to justify to his Sergeant what he did all day. One never finds these books, much less a set of them intact. Notice the insignia he had in his book including the "Polish Worker" patch that was to be worn by Poles working within the Reich. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
