Kia kaha Posted January 6, 2021 #1 Posted January 6, 2021 I’ll start this off with a water bottle from Angola mid 1980s, once owned by a member of P.L.A.N.
Kia kaha Posted January 9, 2021 Author #3 Posted January 9, 2021 Russian field dressing and ZAPU badge, from Victoria Falls area Rhodesia. Any dressings and first aid kit were always added to your own kit when found
RRA227 Posted January 9, 2021 #4 Posted January 9, 2021 Nice. I have to post my helmet. Rich A. in Pa.

Kia kaha Posted January 10, 2021 Author #6 Posted January 10, 2021 SKS belt, seen a bit of action looks like it’s been hit with a 20mm H.E round been repaired and reissued. Then the next guy fell over with 9 mm disease injected by Uzi.

Kia kaha Posted January 18, 2021 Author #9 Posted January 18, 2021 ZANLA (Zimbabwe African people’s National Liberation Army) aluminium water bottle ZIPRA (Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army) pack
Kia kaha Posted January 23, 2021 Author #11 Posted January 23, 2021 Here’s a couple of photos of a display at the Lion and Tusk museum http://www.rhodesianservices.org/ and a ZIPRA belt ZANLA belt
Kia kaha Posted January 25, 2021 Author #13 Posted January 25, 2021 This is an order to return any weapons held to the armoury at police H.Q. 1980. Note it states to return captured souvenirs as well, one of the reasons they are hard to find.
Kia kaha Posted March 11, 2021 Author #17 Posted March 11, 2021 Another water bottle from a ZIPRA fighter. A large Chinese style aluminium bottle carried in a British 44 pattern cover possibly ex Zambian Army. The bottle is made of thinner aluminium and is a lot larger than the usually Chinese supplied canteens. definitely not a 44 pattern canteen
RRA227 Posted March 14, 2021 #19 Posted March 14, 2021 My helmet. Got this from a friend in J-Burgh. Note pop rivit. Liner about 16cm. wide. Rich A. in Pa.
RRA227 Posted March 15, 2021 #21 Posted March 15, 2021 Thanks. The liner is really small. Rich A. in Pa.
Kia kaha Posted March 16, 2021 Author #22 Posted March 16, 2021 Yeah a lot of small helmets around in Angola, the dark green paint is nice, here’s a photo of one that was up for Auction to raise funds for one of the veteran associations a few years ago
Boy Howdy Posted March 24, 2021 #24 Posted March 24, 2021 OMG! I've had these belts for years but could never find any concrete evidence as to who may have used them. One thing I find interesting is the buckle on the lower left. Canvas web belt and made of steel. Looks like a Cuban buckle only blank.
Kia kaha Posted March 24, 2021 Author #25 Posted March 24, 2021 Sterile belts made for aid to developing counties. I’ve never seen brand new ones before all mine were “soiled” good score Tony
