Silvio Posted April 29, 2021 Share #1 Posted April 29, 2021 I want to show you this very rare East-Indische made officers Kepi cap. Officially named "kwartiermuts Model 1894' used by members of the Royal Netherlands Indische army (KNIL) very few pieces survived most are located in military archives(museum) and a few in personal collections. Style is fashioned from the French foragecap and was worldwide used from the 1850 till the early 1900s. Around 1900 when this cap was used the Netherlands Indische army still where engaged in campaigns across the archippels against insurgents and guerrillas. Cap is made by the Firm Savelkoul who had workshops at Batavia, Bandung and Surabaya.
