bldrhouse Posted June 6, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 6, 2021 This helmet with net is identified as a Type 32, but some sites label this as a Type 90 (of which I have one, and it is different shape), and all the other Type 90's have the leather padding. http://brendonshelmets.weebly.com/japan-m30-32.html my current model, without net, is the next two images. Info, please. z
shemp h. Posted June 7, 2021 Share #2 Posted June 7, 2021 Z,the first lid is a civil defense helmet with a repro net from the '70 s,the second is a really nice TYPE 90 ( 32 ) with the kanji for size large painted in white on the rear skirt and your also missing a rivet on the second lid. bldrhouse Posted June 7, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted June 7, 2021 Thank you! So besides the net being a repro, the helmet is still a WWII Japanese helmet just not a combat helmet? and the interior padding is correct, or also repro? Need to deal with seller (not a USMF person). Any links for your info I can use for evidence in my dispute with seller? z
shemp h. Posted June 7, 2021 Share #4 Posted June 7, 2021 Z, yes to your first questionand I would also say yes that the lining is period.PM sent
Fortunes Of War Posted June 8, 2021 Share #5 Posted June 8, 2021 Good eye Shemp; I didn't see that missing liner pin until you pointed it out. It looks like the head may have just snapped off, which seems to have happened from time to time due to rust, etc.
