Japanese Naval Landing Force Cateen, Named?

Just got this in a trade. My friend says it's a Naval landing force officers canteen. Could someone please read the writing on it for me, he thought part of it was for the man's rank. Thanks so much

It’s a navy model. Both officers and enlisted used exact same canteens.

Sorry I can't get more from the inscription Otter42. The 3rd kanji down on the right side is poorly written and the 3rd on the left side is strange. Perhaps a navy thing, I don't know. Army stuff seems more straightforward to me. 

 

Reading from right to left: 

Right side: 夫七, (汞, 未 or neither) 九 

                   Man 7, (?) 9

Left side: 二品, (?) 用

                 2nd goods/article, (?) service
