Foot Locker Booty: M40 Luftwaffe Helmet

As I posted on USMF, I recently acquired a wonderful US send home chest full of goodies.  Included in this was a nice, captured M40 Luft.  What makes an otherwise ordinary helmet special, is that it comes with bring-back papers & a photo of the grave he took it from.  Many of the items in the trunk, I believe came from the location of several photos… Which was an airfield outside of Berlin. Enjoy.

If you look closely at the photo where he’s holding the Luftwaffe pennant, you can see the helmet next to his leg.  The photo is marked “A German grave”, on the reverse.

Fortunes Of War

Tom-

Man, oh man; you can't beat that!  Great to see the send back trunk, all of the goodies and the bring back papers, as well.  Thanks for showing- I almost enjoy the send back containers/boxes as much as the items inside.....well, not quite as much!!!
