I picked up the shoulder holster thinking it was East German for the Makarov. It is too small to fit the Makarov, so, what is it for? What country? Is it for the Police of some type of military?

Thanks in advance for any information!

Excellent! Thank-You Sir!

It must have been made for a smaller frame semi-automatic pistol than the Makarov. Any one type pistol in particular?

Best Regards!

I always thought it was for the M74 Makarov but I could be wrong.

There are Volkspolizei (VP or VOPO) shoulder holsters like this made in several different sizes.  Some will fit a Makarov but some will fit a Walther PP or a new DDR made P1001 or an old PP or similar such as VP reworked Sauer etc.
