Historybuff00 Posted February 23, 2022 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2022 Hello everyone. So I got this post card and was wondering if there’s anyway to tell if they’re in fact German soldiers? I don’t see badges or any patches that would lead me to believe they are. I might be wrong. You all are the pros maybe you can see something I don’t. Let me know what you guys think. Again, I really appreciate everyone’s feedback.
Rakkasan187 Posted February 23, 2022 Share #2 Posted February 23, 2022 I am thinking they may be SA (Sturmabteilung). aka Brownshirts.. The shirt that I posted is similar in design to the one in your photo. Leigh

Gwar Posted February 23, 2022 Share #5 Posted February 23, 2022 I agree with Rakkasan187, looks like early SA
Preppy Picker Posted February 23, 2022 Share #6 Posted February 23, 2022 SA didn’t wear a black tie and where are the armbands?

The No arm band did throw me off. But the design and even buttons do match with the SA look.
Preppy Picker Posted February 23, 2022 Share #8 Posted February 23, 2022 Are they early SS with the black tie?
Historybuff00 Posted February 23, 2022 Author Share #9 Posted February 23, 2022 When I was researching more online I did see some SS soldiers with the same outfit. So it’s a possibility.
Jack the Collector Posted February 23, 2022 Share #10 Posted February 23, 2022 After the Beer hall putsch the SA were not allowed by law to wear any insignia etal.....so draw your own conclusion.
Skysoldier80 Posted March 11, 2023 Share #11 Posted March 11, 2023 The SA, did not have a formal uniform until November 1926. Most people don’t know that the first uniform was Grey tunics with white shirts and black ties, the there was a switch to the brown tropical shirt.
