Outtair Posted March 7, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2022 Can you guys help on this, I have minimal knowledge of Japanese items. This belongs to an elderly neighbor, US Army JAG officer Vietnam and after. He states his father brought it back from WWII and Post War Japan Occupation. Blade is dark from just sitting around all these years without oil. Sheath is wooden with locking throat moving/not secured, I imagine because people have pulled on it without releasing the button. Wire and skin are in good shape and intact. So what do we have? And a general idea of value, as I think he will sell it. I have sold other things for him, I had seen this several years ago. I told him to hide it to keep the Grandkids from destroying. The problem is he hid it so well he just found it after a couple of years. I lose my phone, keys or wallet almost everyday so I had lots of patience with him. Many Thanks, Tim

Outtair Posted March 8, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted March 8, 2022 If this Naval why is the emblem different? Why is the shark skin black? And the Lagoon is closed not open? I can not find anything like this example.
