Found them cheap with original ribbons

Thanks for sharing these! I actually have never seen these and went and looked them up . . . they are the Austria-Hungary Military Merit Medal and it was only given between 1890 and 1918! Also, it seems that the solid red ribbon denotes  a "Peacetime" award and the striped ribbon is for a "wartime" award! Very interesting medals!

Great examples! As someone noted, the solid red ribbon denotes a peacetime award. The addition of swords on the other ribbon further denotes that it was awarded for frontline excellence/bravery ("courage in the face of the enemy") specifically.
