patches Posted April 1 Author Share #4 Posted April 1 Yes, he was in the Navy a long time, 42 Years, 1940-1982, even more years if you take his being a Cadet at the French Naval Academy, École navale. though it seems he fled to England before he graduated in June 1940, so it seems he was an Enlisted Rate the first three years or so while in England before he became an Officer., or at best still a Midshipman, an Aspirant.
