Greetings,

I came across this old Russian officers cap at a local auction. The cap has an Imperial Russian Army type cockade but also has 2 communist era side buttons?? No markings or dates either. Can anyone help identify the approximate age and value of this cap? Is it rare, common? I can't find another like it anywhere on the internet. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That's actually a 1960s motor-rifle officer's cap. It's not Imperial Russian (despite the badge) as is easily discerned by the hammer and sickle buttons securing the cap cord. I'd dump that cap badge and try and find an authentic Soviet era officers badge from the 1960s.
