I belive the leather oval & crown go together but not the starburst.

Any clue as to what the actually go to?

Thanks Paul

The crown device appears to be a rank device for a major during the reign of Queen Victoria. The star burst vaguely looks like the backing plate to the British Order of the British Empire, but the screw post fasteners make me believe it is off of a shako plate.

But these don't go together,  do they?

No, not at all. The crown would be worn on the shoulder strap of a uniform. The shako plate, on the front of a cap. There was once a nice, round centerpiece (probably enameled) pinned to the center of the star. Somebody will eventually tell us what the centerpiece looked like.

As an aside, it is possible that the piece of leather was worn under the crown device on the uniform at one time.
