I had the honor of being in Her Majesty's presence as a guest of the British Forces in Berlin for her birthday celebration parade at the Olympic Stadium in 1987 I think..

As an American Soldier serving with the British (Kings Own Scottish Borderers) KOSB and the Black Watch it was truly something I will always remember and be proud of..

I have a photo of the Queen in her Royal Carriage on the Soccer field taken from the stadium bleachers... As a 21 year old Sergeant at the time of the parade I knew that I was a part of history that had yet been written, and now I cherish those fond memories of serving with the Allied Forces (Britain and France) in Berlin..

Rest in Peace Your Majesty..

End of an era, and I'm still not used to it.
