Zk4298militaria Posted February 22, 2023 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2023 Got a call from a woman that saw one of my posters up at a grocery store. Her husband past away a few years ago and they were going through some of his things in the attic and found these. She told me he was an avid radio controlled aircraft pilot from the late 70s to his death. Apparently he bought these hats to display with his planes pretty early on. She wanted nothing to do with them but wasn’t about to give them away. The collection includes a Pioneer enlistedmens cap, a veterans association cap, a cold weather flying cap, and a 2nd type pith helmet. A possible pair of German riders/flyers pants were also included. I payed $350 for everything. These are my first German cloth headgears so I’m excited to have them. Not terrible shape for being stuffed in a box for thirty years, everything is misshaped, which I’m working on fixing. Any tips you can offer would be great, also if anyone could tell me the pioneer cap maker that would be great. Want more pictures let me know. -Zach. dhcoleterracina Posted October 6, 2023 Share #4 Posted October 6, 2023 I just said in another thread that I had good luck with wood hat blocks bought on ebay. Don't tighten up too much.
