snake36bravo Posted March 20, 2023 #3 Posted March 20, 2023 Some great uniform pieces for sure on the German side of this production. Still a decent watch to this day. Shaw's performance as Col. Hessler was nicely done. He even got a decent haircut for this film unlike so many of the productions of the 60s and 70s where actors could not be bothered to look the part sporting sideburns and massive hair.
patches Posted March 21, 2023 Author #4 Posted March 21, 2023 Yes Hessler, He Cuts a Fine Wehrmacht Officer.
patches Posted April 8, 2023 Author #5 Posted April 8, 2023 Major Von Diepel Hessler's Panzergrenadier Regimental Commander.
T BIRD Posted April 23, 2023 #7 Posted April 23, 2023 HI patches; GREAT STUFF YOU FIND. I HAVE THIS MOVIE ON VHS. A GOOD WATCH; T BIRD
patches Posted July 20, 2023 Author #8 Posted July 20, 2023 Another shot of Hessler, here giving a formal period like color portrait one would see in WWII occasionally with the Germans.
patches Posted October 28, 2024 Author #9 Posted October 28, 2024 Nice Studio head shot of Hans Christian Blech as Colonel Hesseler's Orderly, an old Sergeant as as we know
Marshallj Posted May 22 #11 Posted May 22 One of my least favorite war movies. The 1965 film "Battle of the Bulge" was primarily filmed in Spain, specifically in the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range and Madrid. The film's major tank battle scene and other battle scenes were filmed in flat, bare, arid territory, unlike the heavily wooded Ardennes region of Belgium, Luxembourg, and western Germany where the actual battle took place. It is as though the director didn’t care and thought the viewers would be dazzled by all the tanks he assembled. A real slap in the face to the veterans who endured those miserable winter conditions.

Rakkasan187 Posted May 25 #18 Posted May 25 Harrison Ford starred in the 1978 movie Force 10 From Navarone with Robert Shaw, Carl Weathers, Catherine Bach and others.. Leigh
