Gunner87 Posted May 26 Share #1 Posted May 26 Hello. I thought introduce myself as a new member. I am keen Great War enthusiast and also manage a small research service assisting relatives identify the service history of their ancestors. In addition, I run a small military art group where we share and discuss a broad range work from the 18th Century through to present day. I also served with the Royal Artillery. One of my ancestors was Sergeant Major Alfred Johnson, 7 Queens Own Hussars, who served throughout he Indian Mutiny and, unusually for an enlisted soldier, was honoured by the regiment with a gun carriage funeral. I have attached a photograph of Alfred, two articles from the press and two paragraphs from his Grandson's diary. I look forward to reading your interesting posts and hopefully being able to offer advice where I can. Gunner87
