Gunner87 Posted June 5, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 5, 2023 Back in 1983 I was at the RAF Museum with my Grandfather who pointed out a group of middle aged gentlemen and suggested we ask for their signatures. Being 11 I was somewhat shy but nonetheless my brother and I approached the gathering and each one politely gave his autograph. it was only a few years later that I understood who the gentlemen were. it was, of course, the Dambusters, on their 40th Reunion. Unfortunately, one of the pieces of paper we used got lost so we only have one original and one photocopy. A treasured memory...... Link to comment
GCCE1854 Posted June 10, 2023 Share #2 Posted June 10, 2023 That is quite amazing! It would be fun to put that into a shadowbox or scrapbook with photos of the men, presuming you could find pictures of all of them. What a neat thing for your grandfather to suggest. Link to comment
