Fred Borgmann Posted July 2, 2023 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2023 German WWII Uncut Sheet of Food Ration Stamps dated for use during the period of Jan. 8th through Feb 4th of 1945. These stamps were issued for a child from 6 to10 years of age in the German City of Geldern. The stamps were for many different types of food by gram weight. Among the listed food items are; milk bread, butter, marmalade, artificial honey, ersatz coffee, meat which I assume means beef or horse because there are also stamps for pork and pork fat. By this late in the war I would imagine that these stamps were more like promises with no guarantees. Color; black on pinkish orange. Size 6.75 inches wide by 6 inches tall. Back is plain. Watermarked paper. Nice near mint condition with a few pin holes.
