Looking for opinions on this piece. The stated origin of this knife is the Schloss Klessheim castle, which was used by Hitler to host foreign delegations and conduct state meetings while he stayed at his Berghof on Obersalzberg mountain retreat.

HI Bam Bam.

Looking at other cutlery from Schloss Klessheim their eagle / swastika pattern looks to be the same. The first photograph I attach is a cheese knife that appears to be of the same set as yours.

The only sight concern I would have is that the manufacturers mark on your knife differs a little from the cheese knife which just as 'ROSTFREI' plus dinner fork fish and spoon which have 'ART.KRUPP' the bear symbol in a circle, then "BERNDORF' though I'm sure there is a credible explanation for this like sets made a different periods were marked in an individual design.

Wittmann is a collector in addition to being a reputable dealer so maybe an email to him might be of assistance.

I'm no expert at all but the detail of the Schloss Klessheim eagle and swastika appear correct.

Thanks Gunner. I appreciate the insight. I was digging around and found some other images of what appears to be the same knife as part of sets that are attributed to General Hans Frank. The knives with the thicker handle seem to have the same eagle and swastika and Berndorf Rostfrei logo on the blade with no other stamps or markings. I’ll email Wittmann and see what he says. Thanks!

Good find Bam Bam and the knife in the display to the right of Frank's photograph is the same as yours, manufacturer mark and eagle / swastika. There must have been a large umber of these in service at Schloss Klessheim and great souvenirs to bring home. Thank for the update. Gunner...
