Harrier V/STOL Fighter Patches

Hi,

I was given a set of patches by my dad many years ago. I believe they were given to him at an airshow in the late seventies or early eighties (possibly Farnborough International Airshow)

Could someone please give more information on them as to why and where they would have been issued and by which country?

Are they rare in collectable terms?

Hi Jim.

 

This forum seems to discuss the same badges and though the links are no longer current there is a still image from some footage of a pilot from 3 Squadron in the late eighties wearing what appears to be a very similar badge and a second example though slightly different colour....

Also found the third patch on a 4 Squadron website. 

 

Not a great help but maybe a lead...

Hi Gunner,

Sorry for the late reply and thank you for the above information. It would certainly confirm the time period of the late seventies to early eighties being correct for the patches. Having had a look at the link it would seem that they are rather rare, difficult to find and maybe of some worth considering the original poster in that link put a large sum of money on e-bay for one of these patches and still lost the auction in 2017.
