BGS gold cap insignia

Here are two variations of Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS) cap insignia.  Both are embroidered gold wire insignia that I believe are General Officer rank peaked cap insignia.  One is two piece with a separate eagle while the other is made as a one piece insignia.

Not my field of expertise and I could be wrong here but I was told once that these BGS insignia with dark blue background (it looks dark blue on my PC) were for BGS-See uniforms. Awesome and rare hand embroidered insignia anyway, thanks for sharing.

I wondered about the possibility of them being BGS-See.  The background color is actually black and not blue and the background color on the BGS General seems to be darker than green but who knows?  I like the insignia either way.

I think you are correct.  I just checked a BGS General Officer tunic that I have and the sleeve eagle is gold bullion on a dark green backing.

 

I am happy with the insignia being for the Wasser-Grenzers.

A very nice set of BGS insignia that every BGS collector would love to have in his collection!
