bldrhouse Posted January 20, 2024 #1 Posted January 20, 2024 This is not the Selectable Impact fuse often found on these rounds. Anyone know what model fuse it is? Translation? Calling Mr. Bushido! thanks z
Mr. Bushido Posted January 20, 2024 #2 Posted January 20, 2024 It's IJA "Type 88 super quick fuse【八八式 榴臼】". The bottom two letters indicate it is for Howitzer or Mortar shells. This fuse was also often used for Anti-tank shaped charge"Ta-Dan【タ弾】".
bldrhouse Posted January 20, 2024 Author #3 Posted January 20, 2024 Mr. Bushido, I knew you would magically appear and thank you! I asked the below on Japan Forum and got this from Mr. Majestic; any better idea? "six" and "soldier". Probably is an abbreviation for "6th infantry..
Mr. Bushido Posted January 21, 2024 #4 Posted January 21, 2024 I'm glad I could be of some help. I think your guess is mostly correct. Details are unknown, but it appears to represent the 6th Infantry Division or 6th Infantry Regiment. Perhaps the character“八、” indicates a smaller group, such as the 8th Battalion
