I see no markings on the liner. THANK YOU! Hi Gusmc. I am no expert on the US Brodie but I maybe able to partially answer your question. YJ154 is a Heat or Manufacturer Lot code Stamp of a US M1917 shell. The steel for the M1917 helmets was rolled by the American Sheet and Tin Plate Co and were stamped with a Heat or Lot code and Shipment Number. The M1917 helmet shells were pressed and stamped into bowl shapes by seven company's. So the manufacturer could be one of the following, E.G.Budd. Manufacturing Co, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sparks Withington Co, Jackson, Michigan, Crosby Co, Buffalo, New York, Bossett Corporation, Utica, New York, Columbian Enameling & Stamping Co, Terre Haute, Indiana, Worchester Pressed Steel Co, Worchester, Massachusetts or Benjamin Electric Co, Des Plaines, Illinois. In short it appears you have a WW1 US M1917 worn by a member of the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines, 2nd Division. Maybe one of our US experts can add or correct my explanation.
