Scarecrow Posted February 12 Share #2 Posted February 12 Hi 63cagedfalcon, I'm not sure if this answers your question but here is an example I have on a ex-pat's, who flew with the RAF, side cap. I'm sure that I not telling you something that you probably don't already know but our examples are pre-war/wartime Polish Army cap badges. The post war examples, under the communist regime, were the same sans crown. Hope this helps.

Having some knowledge of these, though no expert, I believe yours is a Polish Army in Exile, or Free Polish Forces cap badge and looking at the fixings, made by Spink & Sons as the J Gaunt badges, also made in the UK were stamped with the company name. This link will take you to a very helpful page which discussed the variantshttps://www.warrelics.eu/forum/polish-armed-forces-west-polskie-si-y-zbrojne-na-zachodzie-1939-1947/polish-hat-eagles-1980/ Gunner
