I inherited what was left of a friends collection after he passed away and among the many items were some named british medals from WWI. I have a victory medal named to private f. walker, R. M. also on the rim is 471 -s- Any help would be appreciated.

Hi ussjfkcv67

I've searched Ancestry and Find My Past, in addition to the National Archives who hold Royal Marine service records between 1842-1925,  for a Private F Walker 471-s- and have not been able to identify your medal recipient.

There is an extremely helpful site with many experts, free to join, and works in a very similar way to here that may well be worth posting your enquiry on www.greatwarforum.org Rarely do enquiries not get answered in this group.
