Are they special? Thanks, Patrick Hi Patrick. The wonderful buttons you have there are Border Regiment, 1881-1959, and manufactured by the well known J Gaunt & Sons who also produced cap badges.

I thought the box was very interesting. As the Brits were not involved it is USMC art.... see the attached. Gunner

That's just a USMC dittybox that I picked up somewhere.
