Chad Posted February 21 Share #1 Posted February 21 Looking for any information on this beret made by Muhammad Zaman and Sons from Rawalpindi. My first thought is that it is a "Pakistani" made beret for British forces. The "insignia" tab on the inside has me puzzled as I have never seen a British beret with this "extra". My next inclination is that it is for Pakistani forces, but the English wording makes me second guess that. Any insights are greatly appreciated thanks

Just an observation, which you may have already considered, but I note the label has the flag of Pakistan at the top meaning the beret must date post 1947 so unlikely it was produced for a British regiment. Also, British cap badges used a slider to secure them to the beret. This beret has a support to raise the front so as to show the badge. again, not British. So I think your second theory is probably correct. regards Gunner

Kia kaha Posted March 1 Share #4 Posted March 1 English is an Official language of Pakistan. Although the Pakistan Army don’t wear a khaki beret now, they had them in the 50s and 60s. Also they had a large export concern.
