A gent stopped by today with a bottle of pills (?) he said that he found on Iwo Jima when he was stationed there in the 1960's (the island was returned to Japan in 1968). The cork top is missing pieces, but you can see the pills inside. Can someone translate it? I tried Google translator but it couldn't read the characters apparently. Thanks in advance for the hekp!

I got a translation - it says "creosote pills". Creosote pills were used by the Japanese military since the Sino-Russo war mainly as an anti-diarrheal medicine (and sometimes as a "fix all").  There's a detailed write up on them on Wiki.
