I have an early NVA pith helmet with the badge that has an "A" beneath the star...any idea on significance?

Thanks in advance,

Cong an.

Search wikipedia for Vietnam Peoples Police, or Vietnam Peoples Public Security.

Thanks

I see now, it's a "C" and an "A", for Cong An

There are 3 police buckles. CA Cong An, Bao Ve, and An Ninh. All specialty badges seem to be made of brass and not aluminum. Don't think it has anything to do with the time period. Dave

Hi Dave

Thanks for pointing that out. I only mentioned it was on an early cardboard helmet because it wasn't a typical find, for both badge and helmet. Now I know.
