River Patrol Posted April 1 #1 Posted April 1 I have an early NVA pith helmet with the badge that has an "A" beneath the star...any idea on significance? Thanks in advance, Riverpatrol
J.T.Thompson Posted April 1 #2 Posted April 1 Cong an. Search wikipedia for Vietnam Peoples Police, or Vietnam Peoples Public Security.
River Patrol Posted April 1 Author #3 Posted April 1 Thanks I see now, it's a "C" and an "A", for Cong An
Ivydiv Posted April 2 #5 Posted April 2 There are 3 police buckles. CA Cong An, Bao Ve, and An Ninh. All specialty badges seem to be made of brass and not aluminum. Don't think it has anything to do with the time period. Dave
River Patrol Posted April 2 Author #6 Posted April 2 Hi Dave Thanks for pointing that out. I only mentioned it was on an early cardboard helmet because it wasn't a typical find, for both badge and helmet. Now I know. Riverpatrol
