September 27, 20223 yr #1 Recently picked this up at a flea market. based on the markings, I believe it was produced sometime between 1936-1941? Unfortunately, half of the handle is damaged.
September 28, 20223 yr #2 Yes, the Eickhorn commercial squirrel logo alongside the newly adopted RZM numbers indicate transitional markings. I would think made more toward the circa 1941 date. Too bad about the damage to the hilt.
October 21, 20223 yr #3 HJ Knives by Eickhorn with TM and RZM mark are transitionals and were manufactured between 1938 and 1941 without the motto.
