The clothing depot at Dachau was known as the Bekleidungswerke (Clothing Depot).    The following images and testimonies are from Veterans who liberated Dachau and went into the Clothing depot and took insignia and other items. You will see the Italian sleeve shield in the first 2 images (Sorry for the glare) as well as other insignia that was found in uncut strips at the depot.   These images are from the book: Insignia and Artifacts of the Waffen SS by the late Michael D. Beaver, (Text layout and captions by Mark A. Bando)  This is a superb reference book that shows very detailed images of the SS insignia. This book is out of print and copies of this book when they are available are quite expensive..   Leigh

Interesting portrait I found of an older man in a Flak unit, I think in 1940 a Gefreiter only, as he's a Great War Veteran, who's wearing his 1914 Iron Cross in it's full form with Ribbon on the chest, he of course may have gone on to be awarded decorations in the current war down the road.

This is most likely a carrier for the Soviet PDF-D children's mask. The 2 wooden blocks you see are for preventing the fabric from blocking airflow.   https://gasmaskandrespirator.fandom.com/wiki/DP-6_/_PDF-7

Perhaps Adolf liked this priceless one, A Deux Cuartos, this is actually the scene right before of the one I first posted  of the Toreador Escamillo and his  group of assistants, the  picadors and banderilleros etc etc , and is the opening as you'll see of Act IV of Carmen.

Ein Musiker,   Nice kiddie helmet, seems to me all these kiddie helmets then would be a light weight  metal right, just like the doughboy helmets here in America then, plastic ones not coming out till the 50s-even 60s. Photo taken of course sometime in the 30s

This woman is dressed as a General but she's not listed as far as I seen, there was one, one Helen Gwynne-Vaughan but this isn't her. Any idea?    St John's Wood, London. - 3 June 1946 Victory Parade in London, with Indian Troops present for the parade.

I know the Dachau camp complex and it's subcamps were home to manufacturing and forced labor facilities for war materials. Though when it comes to uniform/ect the only reference I've come across recently was this blog post on Ruptured duck    https://www.therupturedduck.com/blogs/bill-sheas-wwii-memorabilia-blog/117831619-the-massive-haul-of-cloth-from-dachau?srsltid=AfmBOorn93FYS6wlrjPwLZj7H-l7KEgwacx7J7aLHvtIPI-ErO5Am0uu

A neat military issue watch.  I like it.

These used to be easier to find. Just bought this should get it this week. They were first issued in 1942 to the RCAF and had a very long career in the RCAF into the 1960's durring the 1960's the dials were changed to the white dials with RCAF on the dial this might have the wrong crown due to the crown the same one on USAF Waltham A-17 issued watches but seen them on three others on the net so the RCAF might of used them as replacement crowns. Do have the correct Waltham crown on order. Was not cheap due to their rarity now. Has correct Waltham movement checked the serial numbers so made in 1942.

An interesting thing we found, AH Der Führer  pretty much liked Carmen.   Here's two talks on the subject.   While there's no direct evidence Adolf Hitler had a personal fondness for the opera Carmen, the Nazis, including Hitler, were actually quite keen on Bizet's opera, despite its themes clashing with Nazi ideology, with Hitler often pushing for performances of it and other non-German works, though the party faithful weren't always enthusiastic. Hitler's musical tastes leaned towards Wagner, but he enjoyed Carmen and Madama Butterfly, showing a broader, if complex, appreciation for opera beyond purely "German" works   Adolf Hitler had an affinity for the French opera Carmen by Georges Bizet. While he is most famously associated with the works of German composer Richard Wagner, historical accounts indicate that Carmen was also among his preferred musical pieces.  Hitler was a known opera enthusiast, and his musical preferences were often complex
